Salisbury

"Quiet suburb but close to other places"

We moved here 18 months ago from inner city Prahran, Melbourne, so it's quite different even though it's the same distance from town. Loving the 10 min drive to the CBD, loving that you can park in town for less than the cost of public transport (if you know where) , and loving Apples, the cafe down the road - our own very small piece of Chapel St. Not loving getting broken into for the first time ever last year, and our neighbours having a break-in this week. Otherwise, there's a few good parks, public transport is good even if it takes the long way into town (40 mins), the Aldi supermarket is better than a few Aldis I've been to up here, and I hear schools in the area are decent. People are friendly and there's not really any of that noisy inner city living to deal with - haven't had a loud party keep us awake yet. Train station is not pram or wheelchair friendly - need to go to Yerongpilly.

Great for

  • Apples on Ainsworth
  • Quiet
  • Good proximity to city and freeways
  • Close to public transport train and bus

Not great for

  • Public transport takes long route into town

Hi Renjet, did you know that there is a lift and access facilities at Coopers Plains train station? You can catch both the Beenleigh & Gold Coast trains from there and it is closer to Salisbury than Yeerongpilly. HTH!
