Griffin

"Noisy and Isolated"

We lived here for 2 years and it irritates me that the rating is so high. The biggest issue we've had while living here is the noise. The houses are packed together too tightly and you can hear your neighbours having conversations inside their houses - 2 houses away from us and across the street. There are dogs barking almost constantly throughout the suburb but especially on Chello Street and Summertaste Parade. People are always parking too close to intersections, roundabouts and street corners so you have to drive around them and try to avoid oncoming traffic. If you rely on public transport, don't live here. It's unreliable and there are only 2 bus stops. There's nothing to see or do in Griffin. There's a couple of small playgrounds but there isn't any nature or scenery. They are starting construction on shops near the 7eleven but they won't be finished for about another 3-5 years.

Pros it is relatively safe and most people are friendly.

My advice to anyone looking to move here would be to look at places in Murrumba Downs, North Lakes or Mango Hill and to avoid Griffin entirely.

Hi Safi, what are the rates like in Griffin now? You're the second person I hear rate went up.

Cheers

Strongly disagree, we have no noise and its sooo easy to get places, lots of buses and easy to drive to city, Northlakes, Sunshine Coast. Theres heaps of bus stops throughout Griffin.

@mm13 why don't you contact the council & find out from them

@RJ DJ what a great idea why haven't I thought about it?! Ooh wait, I had Moreton Bay council (horrible at customer service btw) 4 months after I raised the request, replied "couldn't provide such information as it depends o the land size and only landlords can request that information"

Come to think of it; you may have a point there. Funnily enough, I had requested they replace a shrub that was knocked down outside of our property & it took a few calls until someone said they were looking into it but couldn't give me an actual date. He blamed it on contractors working for the council now (OK, sure lol). I'm sure it's not just Moreton Bay Council; our local council in Sydney was unreliable at times & can as be as annoying.
