Helensvale

"Helensvale Hub"

I was transferred from Melbourne to work in South Brisbane. I looked around the suburbs of Brisbane but couldn't find space for my growing family and dogs. After moving to Helensvale I feel we could live here for a long time. I have a large block of land, spacious brick home and the Gold Coast lifestyle. I commute by train but it's worth it as my family can enjoy the beach any day of the week. Helensvale has good transport connections and plenty of parks and amenities. It feels nothing like the new housing estates because there is a sense of community and well built, tidy homes. 5 stars

Hi kathyb9, We found winter fantastic and although summer here is much warmer than Melbourne, there are few factors which helped us enjoy it more. Our house is on the high side of the street and gets cool breezes. We have a swimming pool for the first time in our lives and use it :) Many homes in Helensvale have pools and they are affordable compared to where we used to live. Large trees shade parts of our home and garden. We sit outside most nights for dinner, as for Mozzies, we light up a citronella candle and they don't bother us. Our lifestyle is better here because of the weather and there is more space, greenery, peace and quiet but it is 5 mins to Westfield and roads/trains/trams connecting us to beaches and Brisbane.

Hi samh19,
Old thread , but thought Id reach out.
We moved from Melbourne to Brisbane in December, we are struggling to find an area that we like in our price range.
Are you still enjoying Helensvale?

Thanks in advance

Hi Brad, do you mind me me asking where abouts you are now and your thoughts? My wife, 13 month old son & Myself are looking to move to Helensvale or Coomera regions. I also grew up in the Melbourne areas you mentioned (Chelsea Heights, Patterson Lakes, Sandhurst). We bought our first home in Carrum Downs and it is currently on the market to sell as we look to move north.
Thanks, Tim

Greeting from another Melbourne family, we plan our retirement in GC. Helensvale is an area with a waterfront and decent block which we don't have in Melbourne. How is your experience so far? Flooding near the water? Smell near swamp land? Any potential issues we need to look at? what about Tranquility Circuit, Helensvale? any anyone lives close to this street?
Thanks,

We have purchased a unit at Discovery Apartments and have regretted it ever since. We would move if we could. I would discourage anyone from purchasing or renting here. There are too many rules and managers are undesirable.
