Hastings

"AVOID AT ALL COST!!"

Worst place in the world! 85% are dole blugers. I'm not saying everyone on welfare is a bludger. However, I knew of multiple people ripping off welfare; claiming disability when they didn't have a disability. The rest of them are intergenerationally unemployed. Most have never held a job, and have been on welfare since they dropped out of high school to have children they cannot afford. My next door neighbour had 7 children in a 2 or 3 bedroom home. Amongst others, these people spent their days harassing us. Making it impossible for any enjoyment of the property or even being able to hold down an online job. My advice get out. There's a reason the price prices have dropped so dramatically; it is completely unlivable. I've never come across children who thought it was a luxury to buy food, nor have I come across children who think it's acceptable and normal to swear at adults and threaten to kill your pets. It's given new meaning to the word Feral. Men frequently attack women, it was a living nightmare.

Yvonne, please let me know which area of Hastings do you mean? Do you think king creek bushland reserve area is good?

It sounds like youve had a bad neighbour. I would agree, you have to be mindful of which area you live (as in all suburbs). However, Ive lived in Hastings for 4 years and have only had good experiences. I live in the Old Tyabb area and it is lovely.

That's a shame as we lived in Hastings for over eight years, until March this year, when we decided to move interstate. I absolutely love Hastings and had nothing but good experiences. I'd previously lived for almost thirty years in Camberwell and Hawthorn and if I had the chance, I'd very happily move back to Hastings. Great town, wonderful location and some really fantastic businesses opening up. Alot of progress in town. We involved ourselves in volunteering and the local community and lived in a terrific street with friendly and hospitality neighbours. Loved our community there.

I totally agree. Hastings is a lovely town with friendly people and a great launching place to other Mornington Peninsula attractions. The town will become sought after in the coming years. It is very attractive with many eateries opening up. If I had the money, I would invest more into this town, including a start up business. Absolutely love Hastings!! Fresh air, brilliant recreation centre, fishing, walks/hikes, cafes, shopping and beautiful Pier and Marina.
