Chaos at Woolworths Caltex Petrol Station
This is my experience yesterday morning, and I can tell you it's not the first time ...
It is usually very congested with customers getting very frustrated and also causing a build up of traffic around the shopping strip. The exit is confusing because it has an out arrow with a no exit sign. Added to this is only having one or two staff serving customers.Yesterday morning after finally getting to the pump, I had to wait another 10 minutes for it to start pumping petrol and that was after I told the staff member to turn it on ! Everyone was beeping their horns, cars were stuck and there was only one woman serving and when I went inside she was taking to a sales rep !!!
I contacted Caltex and Woolworths petrol and they told me to go and get my petrol at Bulleen !
Is this a council issue ?

Hi Dargy,
I was up at the supermarket on the weekend, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary? It's not ideal, but I didn't think it was over the top bad? I always get my petrol across the road anyways at the Shell (I think it's a shell) and that seems fine.

Hi AJ,
Its not chaos all the time, and since like you said you usually go to Shell, you won't be as aware of the problem : )
Try going on a weekday, usually mornings. The problem isn't that you need to wait to get petrol, that happens at many stations. But I'm highlighting the hazards as a cause. When it does get busy the exit isn't clear, therefore creating confusion and as a consequence blocking cars entering from Manningham Rd and causing traffic congestion around Macedon Square. I have experienced this many times.........
Ill keep an eye out for it DArgy, but I don't really see what solution there is unfortunately. There are normally traffic jams around service stations, especially on weekends.

Actually there is a solution AJ, I've just been informed via an email from the Manningham Business and Project Support Officer that there will be some road widening at Macedeon Road just before the entry to the petrol site. The proposed road works are part of the Capital Projects and is intended to be carried out before the end of the year ! Great news !
Obviously I am not the only one affected.......
