"Mr Black says spacious suburban blocks should be leveled and the homes replaced with three to six-storey apartment buildings. "

What is this guy thinking? Trying to solve a problem by ruining what makes some of these suburbs so great is an stupid idea. Can you imagine an abundance of three to six story apartment buildings in Camberwell or Brighton? What makes these suburbs so great is the spacious land and leafy backyards, not to mention the families within them Making it more apartment style living will ruin the suburbs. That's what Port Melbourne is for!! What an absurd proposal.

If it actually goes ahead...which it wont. The locals won't allow it, and it sounds like a terrible proposal anyways, so it won't go anywhere.

Maybe only developers will be able to afford to buy these expensive houses with large blocks, so this could drive higher density development?
