mobile phone drivers
My girlfriend nearny got run into recently in her car by another driver busy talking on their phone. The fines have been raised recently. Is this enough? What else should be done to stop people phoning while driving?

What else can be done? I don't think jail is a sufficient response, so all they can do raise the amount of the fines. I hate it as well, but i must admit, I have been guilty of using my mobile once or twice on the roads. What would deter me from doing it? I think the increase in fine has made me always grab for the handsfree now that 'times are tough' financially. Perhaps threaten community service?
