Does Australians experience weather conditions like the US?

Nothing like that in Victoria. We do get nasty weather in QLD up north. They experience hurricanes every now and again, but nothing like ike in the US.

We are very lucky in Australia. While we do have extremes in the outback, most major cities never experience snow, hurricanes etc like some US cities and in summer it would get to a maximum of about 35-38 celsius (100 degrees in the US I think).
