Where to live when you work in Mulgrave?

Hi,

I currently live in Coburg, but recently I got a job in Mulgrave. It takes me over an hour to drive to work, so I am looking to move somewhere closer. I am looking for somewhere which is close to the city, has good access to public transport and also has good 'vibe' - like Northcote or Brunswick does. I would like it to have easy access to Mulgrave, either via the eastern freeway or the monash.

Any thoughts on suburbs that might suit?
