Reviews of Walkley Heights, SA

"Possibly one of the best suburbs in the Northern suburbs!"

Walkley Heights is a suburb located in north/north-eastern Adelaide. Located on a rise, it is located roughly 30 minutes from the CBD, and is possibly one of the very few suburbs of the northern suburbs all together that is the best to live in out here. It is extraordinarily safe, quiet most times, and clean. Walkley Heights is a Northern suburbs paradise! With all the negatives of the Northern suburbs, this area is sure to move you away from all that negativity and look positively that there are some suburbs out there that are nice and safe!

Walkley Heights has quite a bit to talk about, but I'll briefly discuss about it in a tight package so your not reading thousands of words that are unnecessary. To start off with, the area is close to all the basics such as shopping options, with the popular and busy Westfield Tea Tree Plaza (or locals like to call it as simply TTP) located only 10 minutes away (North East Road, Modbury), and more locally, Walkley Heights Plaza (Wright Road, Walkley Heights), and although very small, offers a Drakes Foodland supermarket and a few little shops including a bakery and a pizza bar. There are a couple of medical facilities to choose from, including the Montague Farm Medical Centre Surgery (Montague Road, Pooraka) and Tea Tree Medical Centre (Tea Tree Plaza - North East Road, Modbury). Eatery options are rather slim in Walkley Heights, with local eateries including Harris Curry House (RM Williams Drive, Walkley Heights), an Indian cuisine. However, the place inside looks rather small and quite dodgy, to be honest. Walkley's Pizza Bar (Wright Road, Walkley Heights), a pizza bar as the name suggests, is apparently very nice and the pizza is worth for it. That makes convenience very easy when there are those Friday and Saturday nights when friends or family relatives come over to your place and you don't feel brother cooking or prepraring anything and just would like to serve up some tasty pizza!

Public transport is good as well, with bus stops serving in and around Walkley Heights. More conviniently however, RM Williams Drive have a few bus stops where the buses come around quite frequently. Schools are also at a stone throws away, with The Heights School (Modbury Heights), Gulfview Heights Primary School (Gulfview Heights), Salisbury Heights Primary School (Salisbury Heights), St Paul's College (Gilles Plains) and St Gabriel's Primary School (Enfield).

Getting into the area's personality, Walkley Heights is an extremely safe suburb! Possibly one of the safest in the northern suburbs! A summers walk at 9:00 in the evening is a great idea and you would probably not even worry about your own safety! You would never hear of anything bad happening in the area. It surrounds pretty decent and safe-ish suburbs like Valley View, Northgate and Oakden, but Ingle Farm which is located north of Wright Road and north of Walkley Heights is dodgy at times. Parafield Gardens is also a very dodgy and unsafe area, but don't worry, the area is bordered very well and you'd be sure to stay away from the trouble! The homes are are very attractive and decent, with many large blocks and large backyards to go along with it. The streets are fairly large, but sometimes parking can make some streets slightly tight. Walkley Heights is very clean and green.

In conclusion, Walkley Heights is a suburb that you'd rarely see something good of in the northern suburbs. In other words, it's the northern suburbs paradise. It's extremely safe, neighbours are friendly and quiet, streets are quiet, clean and green suburb, located to lots of amenities close by, good schools are very close by and the area projects itself as a classy and attractive area! I'd definitely recommend living in Walkley Heights!

"Walkley Heights, A Lovely Area for Anyone!"

Walkley Heights is a lovely new area with well landscape gardens and lots of new houses. The block sizes tend to be big in Walkley Heights. Parking is also great in some streets. I don't know how long it takes in Walkley Heights to get to the CBD, but you can make a comment about it if you want to. Walkley Heights has great parks, walking trails, and big playgrounds in the area. It is incredibly safe and peaceful.

Shopping is easy access with Tea Tree Plaza, Walkley Heights Plaza (Corner of Wright Road and RM Williams Drive) with Foodland, Bakers Delight, and other shops here. Public Transport is marvelous! They are ALL stopping in bus stops in Walkley Heights, then heading to the city.

Come here and see for yourself what you think. Move to sunny Walkley Heights and fall in love!!!

"A nice new area with some great views"

A newer area in the North East this area has some great views down to the coast. It sits up on a rise and, while still developing, is reasonably well established. There are a lot of nice houses in here on reasonable sized blocks considering the area.

There are some steep streets and they can be a bit narrow but as far as new developments go this is one of the nicer ones I have seen recently.

There is a school in the area and it has a reasonable service for public transport.

Not far from Walkey Heights is Ingle Farm shops which have just about everything you could need including ten pin bowling for a bit of fun.

It’s a great area for families and young professionals.

Also I notice no one has front fences in Walkey Heights, Is that because you are not permitted from fencing?

Unaware of any such rules for fencing.

No problems with the jails, we had a real estate agent tell us that the Yatala Jail "looked like a castle when lit up at night", we were looking at a house across the creek from Yatala at the time, didn't believe him.
