Reviews of Warner, QLD

"Dogs!!!!"

Barking dogs!! People in this area are selfish mongrels who have dogs in small back yards and work all day and leave them at home by themselves and don’t ever walk them!!! All you hear around Warner is barking dogs.
Defence housing another problem They come and go. You never know what you’re going to get. Some are nice and respectful and others live like pigs. Not nice when you have to live next to a property that looks like boganvill. People park all over the place even though parking bays are available. No common sense. Law says, “ all wheels on the road” not two up on nature strip and two on road!. If you can’t house your boat or caravan you shouldn’t have one. People put them in the much needed parking bays or on nature strips!!! Place looks untidy. Get cameras as you will need them! We are on a corner block and people walk right in front of our house, on our property, like I said, no common sense and rude!! A person walks dog and it shuts on our lawn and they don’t pick it up!!! I’m going to follow them and shit on their lawn and we will see if they like that.

Looking for a home in Warner?

20th January 2023

"Decent example of modern Brisbane suburbs"

Close to good schools, transport and retail with quick access to motorways.

Most homes are of good quality and well maintained. There are some run down rentals in the older part but this is not any worse then other suburbs. Greedy landlords who do absolutely nothing to the property whilst collecting maximum rent and extracting maximum bond. Blight on modern day society. Not exclusive to Warner.

"Ghetto"

Went there to visit friends and there was a hardcore party going on one side of the small blocks and a domestic on the others side. Was not a pleasant experience!

Inaccurate review of the whole suburb based on 1 trash neighbour and your povo friend who could only afford a tiny entry level house. Most houses are quite spacious and luxurious. Particularly the newer side.

Ive read that crime is pretty high, like home break-ins. Im in my sixties and was going to buy a house in the suburb but am worried about being broken into.

"High crime rate"

Got broken into twice and saw much more crime when living there for 2 years. Lovely lakes and parks I would not say it is a safe or secure area. My brother in law is also an ambulance driver and confirmed that Warner and surrounding areas are very high for call outs in regards to crime activity

Rentals in Warner

"No public transport. No path, no High school"

Warner lakes and Warner are not the same.
Try catching a bus from Lilley Rd end. Or better still. Walk at least 4km to bus stop. No path. Busy rd.
No High school close by.
Moreton Bay Council is the worst. Money grabbing bullies.

""Warner. Beautiful one day and better the next""

I have been to many places in QLD and Warner would have to be one of my favorite places. A very family friendly area with plenty of amenities, public transport, schools etc. Have lived in Sydney and Melbourne and stayed in many placed in QLD and can say Warner is one of the nicest suburbs in QLD. Very friendly people and just a lovely suburb overall.

"Warner is about families"

Warner is a great place to live, work and raise a family. How do I know its because its exactly what I do. Lots of people work locally with Brendale, Strathpine and Lawnton - these areas are offering a huge range of employment opportunity. If your lucky enough to work in the area, then you only have a short drive to work. No stress or peak hour traffic. And with the planned growth in Brendale attracting some major companies, the chance of obtaining this lifestyle is only increasing.
What does that mean if you can find local employment ? Simple, more family time. Knock off at 5 pm and be home in 10 minutes.

And its not just about work, the many great schools, both public & private means your kids can get an excellent education and also generally shorter travel times to school also. The area also has lots of sporting clubs all eager for new members both young and old.

The Warner Village shops with a Woolworths super market and also a Baker, Butcher, Paper Shop, Chemist, Dentist, Banks, Doctors, Hairdressers and a some great takeaway food options. There are also plans for a major expansion to the shopping centre.

So if family and more spare time for life in general is what you want then Warner is definitely a great option.

Great for

  • New Brendale business centre will mean more local employment
  • A number of school options
  • Family friendly
  • New development means lots of 'newish houses'

After spending hours scrolling through the Moreton Bay Council DA approvals website.
I found this gem.
A new monster Bunnings Hardware store is earmarked for the corner of Kremzow & Old North Rd, Brendale. 41,000 sqm store thats 10 acres for you oldies, plus a 3/4 acre plant nursery. More local employment opportunties is great for local area.

"Wants to be Northlakes - doesn't have the infrastructure to support it"

We built in the new Warner Lakes development in 2008. We were lured in by a shining development, nice parks and a promise that infrastructure would follow.

Unfortunately the infrastructure for the development has not caught up - slowly turning the place into a commuter nightmare.

Old Northern road is a goat track and with the number of houses that have gone up in Warner Lakes traffic is gradually getting worse. On a good day it would take at least 50 minutes to get to the CBD - god help you if there was an accident on South Pine road. Public transport is essentially non-existant - Thompsons have recently added a bus service, but it is totally inadequate. Other options are to drive to the nearest train stations - Bray Park or Strathpine, but good luck getting a park. With all the industrial development along Kremzow Rd, truck traffic is expected to get worse too.

Warner shopping centre is conveniently located, but the Woolworths has to be one of the worst in QLD. Never enough checkouts open and shelves always seem to be understocked. Not much else available in the way of shopping - need to make the trek over to Westfield Strathpine.

Housing - You've got a mix of old and new, with the new development making a big impact on the area. We found initally owner occupiers were moving in, but gradually we saw more and more of these turn over to rental properties. As such the quality of resident has slowly declined, to the point where it seems that for many a trip to the shops is 'shoes optional'. And while the estates look nice now, wait until the developer has sold all their blocks and moved on - those parks etc will be the councils problem.

Overall, I think Warner is trying to be a suburb that it can never be. Unless the infrastructure is put in to support the fast growing population, it will just turn into a ghetto nightmare for its residents.

Great for

  • Family friendly
  • A number of school options
  • New development means lots of 'newish houses'

Not great for

  • No infrastructure to support the growing population
  • Shopping facilities are pretty ordinary
  • Traffic can be terrible

North lakes is not better. More congested and more over run with delinquents from dbay and dbin. Having a Westfield in your suburb doesn't actually make it a good place to live.

"I like my neighbourhood."

Warner in general is a great place for families. Its growing rapidly, and the locals are very friendly.
You'll find alot of the people that live there also work locally. So the lady at your supermarket probably has a child in your daughters class. And when you join the local sports club there, you'll soon notice how often you bump into someone at the the 7 eleven. This is where I want my children to grow up in - In the kind of Community where its still nice to lift your head high & say hello to a complete stranger & they say hello back. ;-)
