Warrandyte like a lot of areas are zoned bush fire risk however the last bushfire there was in 2009. It is a very beautiful area with lots of native and well established trees. A glorious place to live. The rewards of life in Warrandyte outweigh the risks of bushfire - everyone in fire zoned areas are well educated and have fire safety plans in place
There will be risks on extreme and catastrophic danger rating days (about 5-7 days in a year). Living close to CFA fire station, Harris Gully road will de-risk some of the dangers.
Warrandyte is in a bush fire overlay zone so there is a risk however I haven't lived in Warrandyte long enough to know how risky it is. According past news articles there was a bush fire near the area in 2009.
N.B. There is a fire station in Warrandyte near the IGA store.
