Echuca/Moama NEW Bridge

I am a resident Echuca and I am disgusted and appalled with the way that the council has handled this bridge decision.

There are people’s homes and lifestyles that will be interrupted, there will be a park as well as a school destroyed and as yorta yorta elder Henry Atkinson said they are happy to keep their heritage well what about ours what about our beloved bush land and port area. This bridge will affect the port area and the whole look Echuca has more than the council realizes.

Before my move from Melbourne to Echuca I would visit the town almost every weekend as the town captured me with its class & style I loved the whole package I loved the fact It was so relaxed and so natural. I stayed at a residence on WARREN STREET with loved ones which will now will be destroyed due to this bridge decision.

I read in the Riverine Herald peoples comments on the bridge most people being of a young age who would love to build the bridge but they would also like to see Echuca turn into the next Melbourne, do they really care about Echuca’s heritage.

I did not waste my time moving to this town to have it destroyed by a think fast decision from the council. There are still people that are living of LPG gas bottles at around a $130 every refill in the warren street area as the council won’t have natural gas put through, but they can build a bridge. I just think it is a more than a stupid idea to put the bridge where it is planned to be and they really need to knuckle down and work for their money we are paying them and come up with a better solution.

I myself am only 22 but I hope by the time I come to pass I will be laid to rest in a peaceful cemetery not one that will have a truck passing every five minutes to access a quicker route to NSW.

I just want to know isn’t there anything we can do to stop this monstrosity from being built or are we all just going to keep being ignored?
