Reviews of White Hills, VIC

"Great Place"

Only 3.2km North of the city with walking tracks that link up to Epsom, Kangaroo Flat, Spring Gully and the beautiful Lake Weeroona. It's also close to the hospital with shopping centres in all directions and very quiet if you live away from the main road. It's an excellent place for families being close to all the essential services, schools, shops, restaurants, cafes, parks, sporting facilities and only 90 minutes to Melbourne down the freeway. Due to work commitments we only spent 18 months here but would certainly love to live here again!

"Great area - not too far from the city"

We have lived in White Hills for about six years now and think it is a great location.

It is close enough to town (3.5km) that it is only a 5 minute drive in to work on a good day, and bit longer during school times when the speed limit goes down to 40km/h. For those people who prefer to take public transport into work, there many bus stops along the main road and there are two routes that service the area. A bike path also runs along the creek most of the way into Bendigo, so you could even ride to work if it takes your fancy.

Nearby there is a public primary school, catholic primary school, high school, kindergarten and day care centre. A doctor's surgery, chemist, bank, post office, butcher, bakery, take away and hairdresser are along the main road. There are a couple of pubs around too for those that like to go out for a meal.

If you like the outdoors, then this is a great place for you. With the bike path that runs along the creek from the city out to Epsom, you can safely take the kids or pets for a ride/walk away from traffic. There is also the Botanical Gardens for a picnic and play area with plenty of space and the Jackass Flat Reserve is nearby for bushwalkers.

We have elderly neighbours that have raised their own familes here for over 30 years and are now enjoying their retirement in a laid back and friendly neighbourhood.
