quite street, nice neighbours, easy walking 4min to bilo, chemist, doctors, newsagent,postoffice,take away shops, opp shop, community centre, pub, club (great food very respectable),free public swimming pools,pre schools,primary schools,high school,footy fields,footy club,soccer club,social clubs,lawn bowls,bus stops, lake illawarra. nice walks along the lake...easy bus ride to main shopping centre at warrawong westfields.. what more could you ask for in a small suburb with an ageing population..you get idiots in all suburbs and sometimes the more xpensive suburbs have a dirty closet so dont judge berkely, i have lived here for 7yrs and i wouldnt move out of the area i have lived in many states of australia and have learnt there is good and bad every where so its like any other suburb in Australia only Berkeley has all on offer....LOCATION LOCATIION LOCATION.............

I don't like Westfields Warrawong, but when not shopping locally, I go to Unanderra or Dapto.
I moved to Berkeley in Oct 2003 [7 years +] and have been comfortable and happy here.
My only regret is that it is so far to a railway station. Unanderra had too many steps but a lift was proposed, so Dapto is the only option.
Unfortunately, my big house and garden are getting just too much for me, and as there is no affordable help I considered selling and moving to something smaller, but there was only one offer and it was too low.
