Planning to buy a house in Williamstown, is it a good time & a good decision?

Williamstown, VIC 3016 is located within the Hobsons Bay local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.

We are a young couple of Indian origin and looking to live in Williamstown. Hoping to live with the community and enjoy the breathtaking sights. Since CBD is so close, couldn't think of a more ideal location. Only glitch is that the property prices are past 1MM :(
Is it a good time to buy? Worth the money? Neighbourhood is safe and kid friendly?
