Of course it's wonderful that the whole family was saved but couldn't the parents have been better prepared ? They relied on an eight year old to save them all. I am just amazed at this story....................

Smart kid! Pity the parents were not more focused, but it does sound like the fire moved so fast that it overwhelmed many people. The speed was much more than they had been warned about. Having said that, I would have left even earlier.
