Matt is in charge of selling the property that we are renting. We have tried to negotiate with him time frames that are suitable for us, work commitment and family. As to which both of them he completely ignores and continually harasses us with insults and threats. He could not comprehend that we have responsibilities and a lifestyle that we are living even before the land lord decided to put the property in the market. Whilst we are fully aware that the land lord has all the right to sell his or her property, as an alternative we have proposed to end the lease agreement mutually, this way they have all the time in the world to show the property to prospective buyers because it is really inconvenient for us to have people that we don't know at all entering the dwelling that we are renting. But they refuse to do so because apparently the land lord needs us ($$$) while they are trying to sell the property. We believe that we are being used as a marketing tool to show prospective buyers that the property generates money and to be honest I would not even buy this place. In my opinion, the only usable part of the property is the land because the house itself is very old and small, we just rented the property because it was cheap and we just want to save some money but now, we are very eager to move out of the property. We have offered a suitable time frame for him and his staff (one of the pressing issues that we are experiencing) but all he could say is that they will try to accomodate our requests or demands as he puts it. We are fully aware that the land lord or the agency has all the right to enter the property as long as they serve notice of entry but there was an incident that they have entered the property without our permission and someone tried to tamper with our security camera. It is becoming a very scary situation for us now because for the safety of our children. Oh, by the way, he keeps saying that I was not able to give him a suitable time frame for him or his staff but he can send me emails that are insulting and threatening beyond their office hours. I am about to take him to VCAT and I am hoping that VCAT rules in our favour. Either way we are close to finishing our tenancy agreement with Homes Group and we will be DEFINITELY ending it because of how he treated us. My opinion, as a tenant, never deal with him, he is a very inconsiderate person with poor manners and severely lacking morality.
