Renting in Ashgrove - average price for a family home + best time to look?

Ashgrove, QLD 4060 is located within the Brisbane local government area, part of the Brisbane Region in Queensland.

Looking for a modern 4 bed, 2+ bath. Not much for choice right now. Should I snap up a good one for around $900/week or is there a better selection later in the year?

We have been renting in Ashgrove for 3yrs and are preparing to move, hoping to stay here because we love it. Definitely don't pay that unless you are after big and/or fancy. We don't pay that for 5bd+ 3ba, 3 story 5yr old home. June/July is best availability, but also most competition.

I have seen a lot more rentals available in Ashgrove for far less than $900 pw this seems a ridiculous amount quoted. I have seen great homes from $450 upwards. I am currently looking myself and possibly this area but my budget is no more than 650 weekly, have found some pearler's for under this.
