Bakers Creek Road Lucaston is a lovely place with friendly people, lovely homes & beautiful scenery! It's a great place to live if you want to have space to grow your own fruit & veggies, have some Chooks, Alpacas or a Horse or if you just want to enjoy the fresh air & views. We have lived here for 3 years & enjoy coming home every day, everyone in the street will give you a wave or a nod when you drive or walk by. There is usually a house selling fresh eggs & you can always get apples, fresh apple juice & cherries, peaches, raspberries & plums when in season, about 5 mins up the road at the Lucaston Apple Orchards. Huonville is about a 10 min drive away & Hobart about 30 mins. Over the past 3 years we have seen a variety of wildlife including Paddymelons, Wallabies, Echidnas, Quolls, Owls, Black Cockatoos, Kookaburras & occasionally Wedge Tail Eagles & Platypus! It snow's at least a couple of times in winter & as we live higher up, it has settled for a good day or so at least once a year. The rain fall is good in the valley & if you need a top up for your tanks, the local water service is quick, easy & will go up almost any road. All in all we find it a peaceful, safe & lovely place to live.
