Reviews of Barrenjoey Road, Newport

"Barrenjoey Road - The Heart of Newport"

Barrenjoey Road is the main road running through the heart of Newports retail and commercial district. A number of clothing stores, cafes and various services are located along this strip along with a Coles Supermarket that was recently redeveloped.

Council has also undertaken significant work to improve the traffic flow, median strip and local sidewalks.

The property in this area primarily comrpises of apartment buildings, a number of which are recently developed/in the process of being redeveloped. Property in this area would primarily suit a young couple or a keen investor who recognises the benefit of being located only a stones throw from Newport Beach.

"Barrenjoey Rd, Newport Beach - Something for everyone."

The shopping village of Newport Beach is a lengthy sprawl along the main thoroughfare – Barrenjoey Rd. It’s a busy four lane route leading North to the end of the peninsula.
However, the road has recently undergone ‘beautification’ with a median strip constructed, along which have been planted pines and palms. There are also additional traffic lights (slowing and improving the traffic flow) – and extensive repaving.

At the time of writing, the work remains incomplete, but it’s easy to see that the outcome will be great aesthetic improvement.

Additionally, new services are springing up, including the recently opened Coles, right opposite the beach car park and (terrific) playground. Traffic lights have been installed at this northern end of the strip, which will not only benefit Coles, but also the pie shop, the fish and chip shop, and particularly the customers – who can now easily cross the road to purchase fish and chips etc – to consume on the beautiful, wide sandy beach. Unfortunately, parking remains an issue on the western side of the road, which has not yet been adequately addressed.

There are also numerous café style eateries along Barrenjoey Rd, as well as gourmet delis, and designer gift and jewellery shops.
