Shipping container architecture (also called cargotecture) is among the latest trends in architecture. This type of architecture is also increasing in popularity among those who are building private homes because it provides for a more environmentally friendly way of building houses when compared to traditional homes (hence the council approval). At the same time large amounts of steel are being recycled. It may be an eye sore to you but others, in particular those who are looking for environmental sustainability, are likely to see it differently. Not so long ago people sought that roof top solar was ugly. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and tastes change over time!
