There is also the Putnam Arts Council on 521 Kennicut Hill Road in Mahopac which offers a variety of classes for adults and children. They are right off of Route 6 as you head into Mahopac from Carmel. Check out their website at putnamartscouncil.com.

The Arts on the Lake program at Lake Carmel Arts Center offers classes for kids, teens and adults. Among the children's classes that have caught my attention are a nature based art camp and another one which encourages children to explore myths and legends and create related art work from different kinds of materials.

I want to follow up on your recommendation- my daughter attended a week-long art camp at the Arts Council. It was wonderful- she really loved it and did some beautiful projects. I wish I'd been able to sign her up for another week, but I think I am going to put her in a fall class. Thanks again for the info!
