Lake Gleneida is perhaps the most beautiful lake in all of Putnam County, and it's a great place for fishing and rowboating---or perhaps simply enjoying the splendor of Nature. Carmel, as well as Carmel Hamlet, really care about its residents and making the area welcoming and comfortable for those who live as well as visit there.

I like that it has a walkable village area with some good restaurants. Lake Gleneida is really beautiful too. There is a nice sense of community in Carmel.

The best thing about living in the hamlet of Carmel is the natural beauty of the area with all of its resplendent lakes, peaks, forests and hidden getaways. It has a tranquil breathable beauty and is good for those who want to live a more quiet, rural life.
