Reviews of Concord West, NSW

7th March 2022

"Affordable pocket of this area"

Houses here are more affordable than surrounding suburbs like Concord, Homebush or Mortlake. This probably reflects it being surrounded by busy roads - A3 on the west, Concord Road on the east - often clogged with traffic, creating noise issues and making it difficult to get out of the suburb at busy times. Otherwise, it offers many of the same advantages as surrounding suburbs - quality, freestanding housing, tree lined streets, sports facilities - and (compared to Concord) has the added advantage of railway access. There is a lively commercial strip along Concord Road. The other issue that marks it down compared to neighbouring suburbs is that the quality of schools is uneven. Concord West Public is comparable to other schools in the area, but Victoria Park has a catchment dominated by high density areas further west.

"What a suburb, and I do not say that lightly"

Some people have told me that Concord West is only the second-best suburb in Greater Sydney. I can tell you that they could not be any further from correct. Concord West is a great suburb with amazing community and enjoyable parks, facilities and infrastructure. Concord West is so nice to walk around and spend a day in, talking with locals and demolishing meals from the many delicious food places around town. Overall, Concord West must be the GREATEST suburb in Greater Sydney, if not New South Wales. Nay, Concord West is the greatest suburb in all of Australia, if not the wider Oceania region.

"Beautiful quiet suburb with large open spaces"

We moved to Concord West about 3 years ago and we love the proximity to parks, schools, shopping and public transport in Rhodes. We also find the suburb is filled with a nice mix of young families, seniors and independent youth which gives it a great demographic mix. It's also close to the bay which gives you the luxury of some lovely waterside walks along Lady Dame Edith Estate, Rivendell School, Kokoda trail and the like.

"Wide Streets! Great access to amenities! Centrally located"

With wide streets and large blocks of land, Concord West is the next best option after Concord for location.

With an abundance of social and recreational activities to do this is what makes Concord West such a family friendly suburb.

Clean, wide and peaceful back streets surround large homes with perfectly kept front gardens or newly developed modern mansions.

Concord West is known as very green overall, and its greenery comes in a variety of forms through parks, sporting grounds and its two very large golf courses that are located centrally to the suburb.

If food is what you are looking for, Majors Bay Road offers an abundance of different cuisines at different price points to suit everyone's needs.

We cant forget the kids with activities like Plaster Painting and the local library located in Wellbank Street, and sporting grounds at Greenlees Park and Majors Bay reserve.

Concord West really is a family friendly suburb with many in area attractions.

"Convenient and tranquil living"

The streets are lined with trees and access to amenities, while not top notch relative to the cities, is not insurmountable. Geographically speaking, this is amongst the greatest suburbs, with the Parramatta River in propinquity, and grassland encompassing some territory. Fairly good.

Concord West Train Station is also located in a good spot within this suburb! Everyone is super friendly and nice, and the local shops offer what you need and are owned by friendly staff! It definitely is the place to live. It is super safe! Theres lots of bus stops around to easily get to where you want to be, which is super convinient. Honestly, Concord West is a super cosy and a great place for a family or anyone looking for a comfortable area!

"Cosy Concord West"

Have lived in area for just over two years on Queen St. Great suburb, safe and fairly quite. Great proximity to Sydney Olympic Park, public transport, schools, churches, main roads and there are several cafes and hairdressers in local shops. Usually do main shopping at North Strathfield or Rhodes. There is noise from freight trains screeching their brakes at night and occasionally there are people loitering out the front of my house on their way home from pub or late night train home. But if you live off Queen St this probably won't be a problem for you. A few hoons like to drive along Queen Street but you get this everywhere really. Parking can be difficult around train station during day and parking officers frequent the area. Be prepared to stand on train like sardines to city in peak hours. Lots of cyclists come through due to Sydney Olympic Park.

Great for

  • Close to sydney olympic park
  • Convenient train station

"Good place to Buy, great coffee culture"

I bought recently in Concord West, and have never been happier.
I regularly go to the quality cafes in Victoria Ave. 'Three Spoons' is great value.
I also love the fact that the train station is so convenient. I think it will be a huge selling point in the future.
The Concord West Hotel is in my opinion the best 'local' pub in the inner west.
Overall, a great village atmosphere, what else can one ask for?

Great for

  • Cafe culture
  • Convenient train station
  • Best pub

"Suburb of the future"

Geographically excellent (middle of Sydney) Close to the city; Sydney Olympic Park, the M4; M5; Macquarie Park/Uni. Moving here has saved me at least 1-2 hours of travel time per day (10 hours a week). The rail access is also very good. I have enjoyed the Northern line. My kids goto very good schools locally and one via the train (10 mins). I would strongly recommend the area to other people. it has been a big surprise for us. A plus is the value of the houses never seems to go backwards - I guess thats a bonus; if you were ever going to sell ?
