People say its full of gangs and i've seen some videos on internet where there's gang fights.
Dandenong, VIC 3175 is located within the Greater Dandenong local government area, part of the Melbourne (Greater) Region in Victoria.
I have to move there for course study. Please answer and give suggestion. What area to live in if this is the case. I've told this to my dad and he says lots of out relatives and friends live there and it's good. And lots of areas have gangs in Melbourne. Just like in New York etc. Should i be scared of this or would i be able to live normally there.

I would say you are fine to live in Dandenong. It is true that attacks happen in the area like one in below article but this is possible in all areas of Melbourne. I would avoid train stations on your own late at night. Alternatively, you could try nearby Springvale or Moorabbin as options to live.
