"Fantastic suburb"

Darch is one of the best liveable areas in Perth. Safe, close to the finest beaches in Perth. Close to swan valley and CBD. In general, it’s close to everywhere. I love this area.

"Great place to live in"

I lived in Darch for seven years. I found it’s one of the best and safest areas in Perth. Also great in terms of shopping, schools, transport , beaches especially Scarborough, Mindarie, Hillary’s, and close to CBD Perth. Actually it’s close to everywhere

"Hoypoy Gardens/Chernoff Loop/Borale Retreat"

A group of streets located next to a busy intersection with modern but poorly designed houses sat right next to eachother, these houses were made for the lower economic class and it shows. Have had a crackhead neighbour jump our fence and steal clothes, shoes multiple times. Once knocking on our front door at 2 am high on drugs and shouting at something. Have had another neighbour party with their garage door open and play music throughout the night every weekend. There has also been a drive by shooting on this street (and another in another part of darch).

"Great Location"

Nice, quiet area, and an excellent location facility wise for an outer city suburb. Has two bus services going to Whitfords and Warwick stations plus several shopping centres close by. You get good deals for houses with more land for your money (we moved from Tuart Hill). Would recommend.

"Darch used to be better"

Darch pros are heaps of parks and being a fairly new suburb all the homes look nice and new, schools seem to be ok, easy access from Hepburn avenue to the beach, good parks for the dogs and kids. unfortunately thats about where it ends. this suburb seems to be on the news a fair bit lately for crime related happenings and there are teenage hoons around at night. Not many decent restaurants around, and the shopping choice is very limited.

Not great for

  • You pay for what you get (Doesn't come cheap)
  • Not close to a train station, have to use a bus to get there

"Darch a great suburb to live"

After much research we chose Darch to build our new family home. We wanted to build in a suburb that was relativley new, family friendly, had a good choice of schools within walking distance, nice parks and recreational facilities and close shopping facilities. We have now lived here for just over a year and it has lived up to everything we had hoped for. We have lovely neighbours, our street is very quiet. We are not too close to the tavern so we only get local traffic on our street. All our neighbours take great pride with their gardens and houses. Darch plaza has all your shopping conveniences and the Tavern is a nice place to eat out or catch up with friends and family. We are very happy with our move to Darch.

Great for

  • Short drive to our great beaches
  • Close to Hillarys Boat Harbour
  • Short drive to the freeway
  • Quality Housing
  • Beautiful Parks
  • Safe
  • Darch Plaza open 7 days
  • Everything at your door step

"Enjoy living in Darch"

We have lived in darch for 3 years.. We chose to build in Darch as we wanted to build in a newer area that was family friendly, had a good choice of schools, great parks and recreational facilities, not too far from the city (only 16km), only a short drive to the freeway and was still close to the beach without the pricetag of some of the newer coastal suburbs. With the opening of Darch Plaza and The Tavern we now have everything at our doorstep.. We love living and raising a family in Darch.

"Darch a nice place to live"

We have lived in darch for 5 years. We have always found it to be a very safe and homely suburb with a great neighbourly spirit.
It has wonderful parks and gardens and many walking and cycle paths. Over the years we have watched it develop into a thriving little suburb with a good choice of schools, medical facilities and with the opening of Darch Plaza and the Tavern we now have a great little shopping center and nice pub within minutes of us..It is a nice place to live and raise a family..

"A family friendly suburb"

We moved to Darch a year ago after researching and visiting suburbs all over Perth. The atmosphere in Darch is neighbourly and family friendly. Darch is not a "dress circle" suburb but offers a solid family experience with a choice of schools, excellent sporting facilities, parks and shopping. We go out walking the dog most evenings and have concreted walkways all the way. The council keep public spaces neat and tidy and in our area (Ashdale Gardens) people have pride in their properties and gardens and maintain them well. We do get a hoon or two over the weekends as we live close to the Kingsway Bistro and Tavern but talking to people from other areas of Perth, it is probably better than most. We enjoy living in Darch and being able to walk to school and the shops makes it very convenient too. By road, you can be in the city in about 35 minutes by car if you stay away from the Mitchell Freeway and you can get to the airport in about 25 minutes.

"A great place to live.."

After lots of searching we chose Darch to build our dream home about 2 years ago. We wanted to build in a new area that had nice well kept homes, that felt safe and homely and somewhere that we could eventually raise a family. But still close to the freeway, beaches and the city. Darch ticked all those boxes. As well as having great parks and recreational facilities, a fantastic choice of schools and it has to be one of the most quiet peaceful suburbs I have lived in. In the last year the opening of Darch Plaza and the Tavern have been a great addition to the area. All our neighbours are lovely and have been so welcoming from the moment we started our build to moving in.. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else..

"Lovely & Perfect for family!"

It is very safe here and family friendly. The public schools have a good reputation and lots of family move in for this reason which drive the price up. You pay for waht you get really! It's perfect for family & there are also nice areas & park to have a walk or visit with a kid on. Hillarys Boat Harbour & the beaches only 10mins drive.

Everything at your door step & shops here are it open 7 days!! Yes, that's really handy. Lovely playgrounds. Good childcare and good quality schools.

"A great family area"

We also moved from Inner City to Darch and love the area. Compared to inner city living, its nice not to be surrounded by houses with 2 metre high walls (& still feel safe) and I cannot believe how quiet it is at night (and I haven't noticed any difference since the Tavern opened and I am only a block back). I haven't had any syringes thrown over my fence, drunks come past in the middle of the night riding trolleys down the street, and my house hasn't been graffiti'd (all which happened every weekend inner city).

The primary school is fantastic too. Yes, there is a lot of street work in progress at the moment, but I can see progress - it will be good when Mirrabooka Drive is opened to ease some of the congestion caused by Hepburn Ave (my only complaint!).

"Perfect for those starting family life"

We recently moved into Ashdale Gardens estate having come from inner city around the Mt Hawthorn area. The difference is amazing, the streets are so quite, the houses are well maintained and the parks are abundant and well kept by the local council.

The neighbourhood feels extremely safe, so much so that we can walk our dogs after sunset without fear of being acosted by random thugs. We'd even let our kids play out front or in the park across the road, in the knowledge that the area is safe.

Ashdale Gardens is a hidden gem, perfect for those with young children or those who are just seeking the quiet life!

I forgot to mention that there is a serious bullying problem at Ashdale Primary School and the Administration consistently fail to rectify the problems. I'll be glad when I move out from here.

"An untidy Suburb to Live!"

Nice suburb when I moved here but now very untidy - most gardens are unkept with very few plants. Some front gardens are even concreted YUK. Not many trees and very flat and boring.

Have lived in much nicer and tidier suburbs.
