Reviews of Day Street, Leichhardt
"Village atmosphere with city amenities"
I have lived on Day St for 10 years, I love the suburb and amenities. It's not hipster, but it's got a family and neighbourly feel. Lots of beautiful Victorian houses and some newer units/houses. Not to mention great schools.
Iron cove is a stone's throw away, so a walk next to the water is easy. There are plenty of gyms and personal trainers to keep the health conscience happy.
Local shopping includes great specialist shops in Leichhardt and the neighbouring Haberfield. Leichhardt has a full size Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, Target, Harris Farm , Howard's storage world, Lowes, Tony and Guy, Berkerlow books is great, ladies fashion, and tonnes of cafes and great little restaurants. IGA Haberfield has one of the best delis in Sydney.
All in all a great, if not the greatest suburb in Sydney.

"Day Street...... Practically perfect in every way!"
Having spent almost 2 years looking to by a new home (all over sydney), I found myself in the perfect tree lined Day Street. I love the closeness to both shopping areas and eateries, and yet very little foot traffic caused by them. Both ends of the street you will find bus stops going all over the city, and the light rail too just a short stroll away. All in all Day street is my forever home!

"Great Street"
Day street is my home for 4.5 years. In my opinion it is one of the best in the area due to its closeness to both Norton St and also Marketplace. Coles / Woolworths / Aldi are only 5 minutes walk (if that). All the restaurants of Norton St and Marion Street are also that short walk away.
The street is well connected with the bus network (436, 438, 439, 370, M10, 440 etc). The light rail Marion Station is only 10 minutes walk away. Driving; Parramatta Rd is only 1km away, and the West link is only 1.5km in the other direction.

"Very similar street to Cary Street"
Check the reviews for Cary Street as this street is very similar. The only differences are that there is no children's park at the bottom and the street may be slightly narrower with slightly smaller houses. It is still a very good tree-lined street in a fabulous location.
