Reviews of Donnybrook, WA

"the perfect tree change."

Fantastic public family playground, quiet leafy streets, 25 minute travel time to The City of Bunbury, supermarket open 7 days a week from 7am till 7pm, from playgroup to pallative care the town caters for people and families of all ages, Donnybrook provides the services of a hospital, dentist, medical and pathology centres, while children attend the Donnybrook School from kindy to year ten with ample choices of further study available in nearby Bunbury. Live in town, become a farmer or a tree change, whatever live style your dreaming can be found in Donnybrook. With the Hotels, Motels and Transit Park all located within walking distance of the main street of town allows many choices of accomodation for visiting family and friends. A short bus ride from town and you can be on the train to Perth in under half an hour. Donnybrook also acts as the gateway to the southwest, with many of the tourist hotspots within our surrounding area, including fishing, wineries, camping, bushwalking, fetes, fairs and field days. We also have annual celebrations of our own including the Donnybrook Apple festival. With a recreation centre, pool, gym, footy, cricket and netball clubs providing plenty of fitness choices for adults and children alike. Houses are affordable and employment plentiful, you just have to make a choice to life the life, I have with hubby and 4 kids for 14yrs and wouldnt have it any other way, as a converted "city chick" I love the fresh air, safe streets, clean parks and friendly locals.

"Great place to live"

Donnybrook is a great place to live. Huge play ground for the kids, it's the biggest free park in Australia. All essential shops and services in town but only 20mins to city of Bunbury for cinema, dining, beaches and major shopping centres. Nice close knit community, safe green and clean. All the benifits of country living within easy comute of the city.

"Great community spirit"

Donnybrook has a population of approximately 2500 and is 206 km south of Perth. Slightly inland Donnybrook is on the Preston River and the main industry here is fruit growing. Many people will go for a drive just to get fresh fruit from Donnybrook, including people from nearby Bunbury. Donnybrook can offer a country atmosphere yet still be close enough to drive to a city and the beach and there is a very friendly community spirit here. There is a primary school, high school which caters for students to year 10 and Tafe College. Donnybrook also has medical centres, aged care facilities and a hospital as well as allied health professionals and dentists. There are several banks, shops and a supermarket, a heated swimming pool, sports fields and a recreation centre. Donnybrook has the largest free fun park in Australia called the Apple FunPark which has play equipment for children of all ages and has picnic areas and barbeques. There is also running water and power points. The children’s play area is fully enclosed. Home prices in Donnybrook vary from the mid $200k to over the $1 mil mark depending on what you are looking for.
