The traffic on the roads during the weekends in East Fishkill is not bad at all. The busy time is during the week, especially when you are trying to get through Hopewell Jct during rush hour. Otherwise the traffic moves along for the most part. The only time that I see traffic actually backed up or stopped on the weekend is when the Stormville Flea Market (http://stormvilleairportfleamarket.com) is open, then that area only can get very slow.

Some of the roads do slow down a bit, but I wouldn't call it really bad. I guess I'm too used to big city driving, like in NYC or Chicago where the traffic comes to a dead stop and doesn't start up again for a long while. Route 9 does slow a bit due to traffic lights, and 84 is fine 99% of the time.

Rt 9 slows down, especially in the Poughkeepsie/Wappingers/East Fishkill area. There are so many traffic lights on Rt 9 that the roads can't help but become clogged. It's almost never at a total standstill, though - it's just slow. Rt 52 isn't bad, unless you're there right when a baseball game gets out of Dutchess Stadium. 84 can come to a complete halt on Sunday afternoons right around the 684/Pawling area (if you're on your way to East Fishkill), with people driving from north down to NYC.
