Reviews of Eaton, WA

"Best family suburb with everything and More!"

Eaton is the only place on earth my husband is willing to live!!! And I couldn't be happier really because we have it all... Our home in older Eaton, like many of the homes here just by the river, we hate on a HUGE block with a MASSIVE backyard with a lovely big ghost gum at the very back of the yard and large mulberry tree and palms, the far end of the yard is a kids dream with a un-developed area that leads down to a lower elevation of land with large ferns and another large mulberry tree overgrown from the house behind ours under witch is a fantastic hideaway cubby hidden behind the large leafy branches that reach right down to the ground. The old fence is a mismatch of old tin held up with jarrah posts and bits of rail line adding to the rustic bush deal and so of course too the Adventure! Over one street behind us is Pratt Road alongside which runs the collie River- the perfect leaisure area for our family to walk along on the incredible bush track path leading to, at one end a lookout and down stairs to a jetty bridge then open grass area with BBQS & toilets/pergola then from there two awe inspiring bush track walks both leading along wooden bridges under whitch small streams run, through beautiful dense bush and with peppermint trees and masses of ivy growing over trees and along an iron fence laneway and at the end combing out at the local Scout hall and small fishing jetty. To the other end the riverside trail leads to a carpark then large open grass area with a footpath running from this area right down to old coast road where across the road is an oval and tennis/basketball/netball courts, fuel station, hair salon and now even a small doctors office Connected with the bunbury BREKEN Health Campus which is TOTALLY AWESOME AS THEY ARE OUR FAMILY DOCTORS (they bulk-Bill any patient with confession and all children and have great friendly helpful doctors) . Beyond the grass area with its huge pergola and bbq's is a NEW totally frickin amazing playground that our kids LOVE SO MUCH THEY STILL CANT BELIEVE ITS THERE! then another carpark and boat ramp for river access, a bricked off swimming area along the river safe and user friendly for young children as well as the general community and also allowing dogs off leads, then a huge stretch of grass which is perfect as a dog excessive area again with dogs allowed off leads. THEN... OF COURSE WE HAVE THE NEW EXPANDED AND TOTALLY INPROVED TO THE MAX EATON FAIR WITH THE REGIONS ONLY 24hr KMART AND SUPERMARKETS/CHEMIST OPEN TILL 9pm EVERYDAY, CAFES, ETHNIC RESTAURAUNTS/ DOMINOS, FISH&CHIPS, HOGSBBREATH, BASKIN ROBBINS, CHICKEN TREAT, HJ'S AND MACCAS!!!! We have specialty stores, hardware store, Joes Pozza, Eaton Medical Centre and Pathology, 2 Vetinary clinics, Beauty Salon, Dentist and SCHOOL Dentist, Bethany Feilds, Estate Housing Areas, Rec Centre, Library, 5+ well equipped playgrounds, 2 Public Primary Schools and a third to be built in Millbridge, a small bit very unique Comminity College Highschool with fantastic on location work-place skills programs and large community/arts building along with modern facilities and buildings unlike any other highschool in the Greater Bunbury Area and a Stellar reputation and well SO MUCH more!!! Go on Facebook to the Bunbury Suburbs ages for Crimestoppers crime prevention and reporting suspicious activity or persons or other situation to warn/inform local area residents and you will be BLOWN AWAY impressed by the huge difference in listings with other areas getting high amounts of posts frequently while here in Eaton it is only now and then that the odd crime or incident will occur. Neighbouring Suburb Australind is notorious for crashes and accidents on its main and residential area roads but here we only get the odd prang and usually on the main road Earon Drive as it has a large roundabout, new lights intersection at shops and leads to the highway. BASICALLY EATON IS THE BEST OF THE BEST AND WITH REASONABLY LOW RENT AND HOUSING PRICES IN ITS OLDER AREAS IT IS THE PLACE ANYONE SHOULD BE LOOKING TO LIVE IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER THEN EATON!!!!!!

Great for

  • BEST FRIENDLIEST SAFEST PLACE ON SW WITH 9pm Shopping and 24hr KMART hjs and maccas
  • Amenities
  • Family atmosphere
  • Quicker drive to CBD than some Bunbury suburbs

Not great for

"Great place to raise a family"

Great place to live. Local shops and supermarket open more than any other in town, family friendly tavern close by, schools, library, local football grounds, everything you need to have a wonderful family life. Some people refer to Eaton as being "out of town" but it is actually a quicker drive to the Bunbury Forum or CBD than South Bunbury as the roads are more direct. Have lived here for 18 months and can't see us moving to any other suburb of the Southwest.

"Residential area great for families"

Eaton is only about 6 kms North West of Bunbury CBD and in fact Eaton is a like a suburb of Bunbury. Eaton sits on the banks of the Collie River and has a great hinterland of rich green farming land. Eaton is a very residential area with some great housing options available at reasonable prices with rental properties equally affordable. There are good shopping facilities in Eaton with a Woolworths Supermarket, many specialty shops as well as hairdressers and convenience stores etc. There are some really good restaurants nearby as well as service stations and hotels. Eaton is a family orientated area with children and adults alike being involved in a variety of sports. There are two good golf courses nearby, boat ramps and ideal fishing. The Glen Huon Oval is also at Eaton. There is a local bus service which has many routes in services into Bunbury and school bus service as well. Education in Eaton is serviced by the Eaton Community College which caters for students in both primary and secondary and is opposite the Glen Huon Primary School. Eaton has grown dramatically over the past few years and shows no signs of slowing down. Great area for families to settle.
