Garden Island is not accessible to the public and has the Navy in residence full time. It has a good conservation program in place for the land, which is largely on limestone - so no more a fire risk than the average bush area. In fact, probably less since the likelihood of a stray cigarette etc... would not be high and the leaf litter would not be the same as in the jarrah or karri forests or hills areas.
