Whats the deal with Geelong being so busy now

EVERY shopping centre (Waurn Ponds, Westfield, Corio, Leopold) is so busy these days. Waurn Ponds is a fight to get a car park. Every drive-thru constantly (i.e. McDonalds) is 10 cars deep quite often. I feel as though We could do with at least 2 more Waurn Ponds size shopping centres....maybe one in Armstrong Creek at least. Its just mayhem and it's only May! I don't believe we have the infrastructure to support the population here at the moment.
