Hi Asha, I sell realestate though out George Town and can give you a rough idea of the areas of which would be great to bring a family up and the areas which are more affordable. There are schools on both north and South George Town, therefor you have a choice of schools - primary and secondary. South of the East Tamar Highway you will find is a quieter area whilst there are pockets in the north which are also Quite good. The western side of George Town does have some public housing properties which depending on your lifestyle and affordablility will determine whether this is the area you are looking for. My choice would be South or Sorell Street east if looking North of George Town. Hopefully that gives you a rough idea - feel free to contact me if I can help any further.

Anne st , Goulburn st are good and central .
My advice would be to pop over and have a look yourself .
Areas change all the time and George Town is changing rapidly .
With Launceston and the airport within easy driving distance new hospital, schools , fishing and boats with beaches what more do you want .
