Reviews of Glen Huntly, VIC

"Nice but noisy"

I’d like to living here, a little busy and lots of traffic but it’s quite beautiful at the moment. If you’re selling your property, the area has increased value crazy amount. But my advice is don’t use the local Real Estate agents, they are flooded and will get you an average price. Use an agency out of the area like I did, you will get a massive price! The same all agents like Woodards for example list every single house, so they’re not gonna just work for you to get a good price. There are some nice cafes now, it’s really beautiful and I will miss the place but I’m very happy for the sale.

"Noisy"

As most houses are approaching 30+ years you hear renovation saws, drilling, hammering 7 days a week. Would be a peaceful neighbourhood if it wasn’t for the constant noise pollution.

"A beautiful gem"

Such a quiet, peaceful, and yet closely-knit neighborhood. Many restaurants around and beautiful parks and places to visit. Close to train, tram, and bus network. Taxi is usually easy to reach (within 8 minutes during off-peak). Everything is nearby (within 5km): childcare, health centres, library, physio, beauty services, salon, hairstylist, tiffin and catering services, dentist, optometrist, bulk-billing services, nursery, cafe, a local boutique, Asian stores, grocery and supermarket, post-office, community pharmacy, other pharmacies, gift shops, shoe store, florist, op-shop, sweet shops, coin laundry, real estate, massage parlor, and so on. A wonderful, easy-going, and peace-loving culture. No nuisance at all and always feels homely and warm.

"Lots of good stuff"

Generally a good area to live in, safe and convenient. The left side of the tracks has more houses while the right side is mostly units. I live on the left side. Suburb is very small so mostly near stations but no trams. Good distance from the city - close enough that it only takes a 20 min drive there but far enough that is doesn't feel congested, it is actually very quiet and peaceful. Glen huntly village has a nice woolworths and asian and indian grocers which is nice. Generally the area is quite well maintained but has some graffiti and trash. Close to a lot of suburbs which have lots of green spaces as well as other facilities and amenities. Carnegie and bentleigh have lots of food options. Not that far from the beaches as well. Also just a short drive to Chadstone which has everything you would need. Even if i were to move I would definitely still be in this general area.

Rentals in Glen Huntly

"Easy to define..."

As a local real estate agent I spend a lot of time on foot around the suburb of GlenHuntly. To keep our residents up to date with the latest news what's happening in the property market I do daily letter drops.
Suburb can be split into four different areas. Each area got their own character and beauty. Area 1 and 2 - North of Glen Huntly Road which splits by the railway to West and East. On the South from the main road, areas 3 and 4 also split by railway. Westside predominantly houses and large townhouse while on the Eastside mainly units and apartments.
If you would like to know more about particular street or area please just ask. I'll be happy to assist you.

"A wonderful suburb with everything close by"

I loved living in Glenhuntly. It has wonderful transport access (trams and trains to city). It's far enough away from the city that you feel like you've come home and can relax. It's so quiet and is only walking distance to shops and local restaurants. I loved that I could take a 10min tram to Elsternwick (for great strip shopping or the beach) or a bus to Chadstone Shopping Centre. For cyclists there is a velodrome which is open to the public and there are loads of great cycle paths. Caulfield outdoor 50m Swimming pool is located in Glenhuntly too! Monash Uni is a short walk too.

"A good palce with easy access to the city"

Just south of Caulfield racecourse this area has a lot to offer although the proximity to the racecourse can make it busy at certain times of the year.
There is a good blend of houses from older homes to newer smaller courtyard homes and units so there is a bit there for everyone.
It’s not far to Chadstone shops and at only 11km from the city makes for a reasonably short trip to the city. You could even cycle it in without too much trouble.
The area is well serviced by public transport so it’s easy to get around even if you don’t have a car.
