Great street for nature lovers and families

This is a great little tucked away cul-de-sac with an acre of trees bordering it and it is so peaceful living here. It is like being on holiday every day and you woulld not know that you were in suburbia. No houses can be seen from my home and even though it's near major roads, it is very quiet with little or no traffic noise. The only people who drive in the street really, are locals. Another good thing is that there are 2 bus stops very close, like 2 minutes walk and it is only 17 kms from the CBD. While so many other areas are experiencing infill, all of the blocks around here are quite large and there's lots of mature trees. The neighbours are great too and at the end of each year, we have a street party to connect with each other. We all look out for each other's homes, so there is a great sense of safety and security living in our street.

So kewl dude! this is the type of place i'd love to live in. To me, it's very under-rated by oh-so-important to have a safe and friendly street/place to live in. Having neighbours, like you said you guys have, is a rare treat in our fast moving world we live in.

It's also a little treasure chest with all the trees and open natural space - i hope nothing happens to it and you guys work hard to keep it going like that :)

Hi Pure Krome. Thanks for your nice comments. Yes! We are very fortunate to live where we do. Did you see the pictures that I posted? One is taken at the front of my property in front of the tree island and the others show the side of the street. We have a natural lake that is a wildlife reserve quite near. We think that it's a treasure and every day I say 'thanks'. I think that the area was well planned before all of the buildings were erected and there are a lot of parks and open spaces in the suburb. We are a well kept secret.

Where in the world do you live?

I'm a melbourne boy. If you click on my profile i think you can see the reviews i made. I live in the Brunswick East one. One of the reasons i moved to this part of Melbourne was because the place i bought, here, is surrounded by sports ovals, a creek and some more open space ... which is why i was very interested in your discussion :)

But what i found pretty damn exciting was that today i read about Google Street View being released nation wide, so I jumped into this site and checked out my house AND your street also. it's so kewl :) I felt like i was walking around Gurian Gardens :)

Glad that you liked walking around our street. I checked out your profile. Are the photos of your street - Kingfisher St,? I think that I will hop on Google Street View and see what you saw.

Cheers
