"A fantastic place to bring up a young family."

Away from the hustle and bustle, yet close enough to leave your car at home and walk to beaches, cafes, restaurants, schools, churches, and shops. Brilliant neighbours and neighbourhood watch system. Neat and tidy; very safe. Lots of small courts and surrounding parks and bike tracks, and footpaths. Highly recommended!

"One of the nicest streets in Torquay"

Highlander Street is 2km(at the closest end) from the shopping village, which has Post Office, most banks, cafes, restaurants etc. It is less than 2km from the ocean beach at Fisho's, and 3km from the main family beach, and the Surf beach for the body surfers and board riders.
Highlander ranges from about 8 y.o. development at the closest end to new subdivision and building devolpment at the other end. This is the last stage of the Wombah Park subdivision, although, unfortunatley there will be STILL more development as Torquay grows to the north.
The roadway is about 8m. wide and (at this stage) is not a through road so most traffic is residents or tradesmen working on the new houses.
Proporties on the south side of the street all have direct access to Deep Creek Nature Reserve with walking tracks through the bush, and to the beach. Access for others is via walkways between some properties. The back yard 'outside the back gate' is many hectares in size, and is not accessed by vehicles. Walking (with or without dogs) and riding the bike are very popular activities.
Some properties on the south side have views of the ocean by looking down along the creek.
Most of the residents are permenant, with maybe 25% of the homes classed as holiday homes with weekend and holiday occupation only.
All the neighbours are friendly, and nod or chat as they pass each other. Many homes have families in them, and some are more at the 'retired' end of the scale.
Easy commute distance to Geelong and Melbourne means there are many working couples.

Sounds great! Wish I could move there... :)

Got any photos or videos of the surf beach or the shops or something?
