Howard, as in any reasonably sized town you will get some narrow minded individuals, thankfully these people are not too many and the greater population has little tolerance of these types. My suggestion would be to research the particular suburbs of Hobart you are interested in. This town is a great place to live with an easier pace to life, beautiful landscape and beautiful food.
