Any advice on retiring to Tasmania from South Coast UK.

We have NZ passports and are already retired. We're both fit and active, love nature but also would like to be in easy distance to facilities and social activities such as cinema, cafes, bars, health and fitness etc. All family are either in NZ or scattered around mainland Oz but we think Tasmania sounds so lovely. Any advice and information would be so appreciated.

I reckon the North West coast has the best weather of all of Tasmania, certainly does not get the very hot days like the rest of Tassie (in East Devonport our hottest day was 27.5 degrees this summer and now check that against Launceston and Hobart) and very mild winters with no heavy fogs like Launceston and days were the minimum is less than zero as Hobart and Launceston have. House prices are much less and we have the ferry from the mainland at our door. We even have "Pommy Paul" who advertises his 2 IGA supermarkets on our local radio stations.
