Looking for a budget-priced home in a nice neighbourhood

Hobart, TAS 7000 is located within the Hobart local government area, part of the Greater Hobart Region in Tasmania.

I am in my late 60s and on my own so looking for a town with good community/friendly feel that's not isolated and with good local transport

I am a Brit but have lived in Australia for a long time off and on. I now find myself a single person again and would like to try and find a friendly town so would appreciate your thoughts.

What sort of area are you looking for? City or country? Semi rural? There is a decent variety, so it would help if you were a little more specific :)

I'm in much the same situation as the above. I'd prefer a little of both if possible. Hopefully relatively well-priced for just one, (1), person..but would need a spare room if possible. Thanks so much
