Reviews of Hutchinson Street, St Peters
"Light industrial street with remnant residential workers cottage housing"
Hutchinson Street is a predominantly a light industrial street with many big food manufactures such as Mama Ka’z and 85 degree patisserie bakers. Whilst many of these businesses have been operating here for years, one (or a few) of the residents are unhappy with the existence of the ‘noisy’ factories that are well established along this street.
Take heed if considering to operate a light industrial business in Hutchinson Street. Close surveillance is given to the street by the local council for loading and unloading from the street and have been known to issue fines for breaching any development consent that requires loading and unlaoding to occur from the premises’ loading dock – however the local neighbourhood ‘no-it-all’ will probably get to you first if it is not Council.
Great for
- Great quiet location for industrial businesses
- Artists studios are popping up along the street and in the St Peters triangle area, creating a great vibe
Not great for
- Nosey residents unhappy with industrial uses along the street
- One way street, which means doing a lap down May Street to get back to the other end of the street
- Not ideal for living, especially families
