Reviews of Ivanhoe Road, Kununurra

"Through To The Crossing"

Ivanhoe Road runs from the Savannah Highway/Victoria Road on the outskirts of Kununurra, and passes the fruit and vegetable plantations made possible by the Ord Irrigation Scheme. Thousands of acres of gravity fed irrigation crops stretch out on either side of the road, until it reaches the famous Ivanhoe Crossing, the only wet season access to Ivanhoe Station. Even in the dry season this causeway is 4WD access only and the water flows very rapidly over it. Barramundi fishing is popular at this spot – but crocodiles also like it.
