"Sandalwood and Mangoes"

Packsaddle Road runs off the Savannah Way/Victoria Highway, west of Kununurra township. It takes its name from the Packsaddle Plain over which it travels. Driving down here you will pass the most lucrative crop at the moment in Kununurra, Sandalwood, which is a root parasitic plant, living off the root of its host. Also along here are some very large mango plantations. One turnoff not to be missed is the Zebra Rock Gallery – drive down its unsealed driveway to see carvings from this rock that is unique in the world to this area.
