Reviews of James Spiers Drive, Wanneroo

"The best street"

The council has just chosen to block off an entrance into Regent Waters that will restore peace to our area. I live in a wonderful part of James Spiers Drive - it's quite, parks, trees, birds, dogs - dog owners - smiling happy people out enjoying the beautiful walk areas in our estate. If I ever leave this street (lived here 11yrs) I will miss it's beauty - tree lined parks which shed their leaves in autumn - the wanneroo shire does a great job in looking after the park. Our area encourages you to get out and get your 30minutes..... People are friendly and yes we know our neighbours and their neighbours.

"Fantastic location for families ruined buy thousands of cars cutting through."

I love my street and the people on it. It appeared to be a fantastic familiy street with loads of parks etc. Since buying on James Speirs it has amazed me how the Wanneroo city council could allow the area and the streets to be totally overrun with traffic from outside the area (hence a massive number of houses being sold). I believe there may be a resolution coming in the form of a road closure this will make it a safe family area again and the parks will be filled with kids like they used to be.

"Part of the REGENT ESTATES, James Spiers Drive is a dream to live. Once the traffic problem is fixed."

James Spiers Drive is a loop road in REGENT WATERS ESTATE. This estate is Wanneroo's prestige living area.
Parks at either end of the loop, Wide Verge, Big paths, a real neighbourhood feeling. bordering the Yellagonga National Park, it is a dream neighbourhood.
(Could almost be Western Australia's Ramsey St.)
The one issue is even though it is designed and built as a quiet estate road, the Roads Board have opened both ends and made it a Rat Run between Scenic Drive and Ocean Reef Road. (A Rat Run is when people who are in a hurry use the back road shortcuts instead of using the main road making for a dangerous environment by way of a road made for 500cars per day now has over 4000 cars a day).
By way of this becoming a Rat Run it has bought a Hoon Element to the neighbourhood, Burnouts, Car Crashes, Speeding (Recently a 155kph in a 50 zone recorded) will eventually bring the values down and bring a fatality to the street.
Wanneroo Council do not seem to be that interested in shutting down the Rat Run as some of the Councillors and their families currently use it in the morning and afternoon in order to avoid a 3 minute wait at the lights.

Overall, a great neighbourhood, as long as you don't mind the traffic.
