"Lots of unit complexes, yet relatively quiet"

I bought a unit in Kelsey Cres in July 2009. I have lived there for five months so far and intend on staying for years yet. For investors, the area averages about 10-20 years older than Lyons or Palmerston (for example), but still fetches decent rental prices.

Despite a shortage of off-street parking, the street is not full of parked cars. It is not well-lit at night though.

Kelsey Crescent is almost purely unit complexes, but is surprisingly quiet. I can usually sleep in without being disturbed, I rarely hear my neighbours and there is no public housing in the street that I am aware of. Traffic noise sometimes carries from Sabine Rd, but most of it is muffled by trees and other housing. Of course many residents are renters, so noise levels and neighbours will probably fluctuate a bit as people come and go. From my observations though, everyone is peaceful and friendly as they are mostly middle class (families and medium income earners) citizens with similar circumstances. There are almost no pets around due to the many unit complexes with 'no pets' policies, but I have heard a dog barking at night which I think is from some duplex housing on the street.

Millner primary school is on one end of the street and the route 10 bus (goes between Casuarina and the city) is a few minutes' walk from the other end. The Anglican church and Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints are on Kelsey Cres, for the religious types. There is even a donation bin at the Anglican church so you don't have to go far to get rid of your second hand junk. And of course there's Woolworths in the adjacent suburb of Nightcliff, and Homemaker village within walking distance.

The Beachfront pub/bar is a 5 minute drive, and the city's nightclubs are a 15 minute drive. Nightcliff gym is probably the closest fitness facility, or there is Nightcliff pool and the bike/foot path along Nightcliff beach - all a 5 minute drive away. Kelsey Cres has a small park (with no play equipment though), a basketball court, and Millner school oval for outdoor activities. A pizza shop on Sabine Rd is pretty much the only nearby takeaway facilities, but restaurants/takeaway are plentiful in both Casuarina and Nightcliff.
