Reviews of Korumburra, VIC

"A small town with a lack of decent shopping and only one bank.No public transport."

Lived there for 9 months. Lack of shopping, the main fault. Had to drive to Leongatha or Wonthaggi to do grocery shopping. There is a small local supermarket with inflated prices. There was a Commonwealth Bank but that has now closed, leaving Bendigo bank the only one (open 4 days a week). If you want a taxi there is a half hour wait, the nearest one in Leongatha. No train service either.Employment opportunities almost zero

"Beautiful little place"

Love the views and the wonderful people.
Shopping isnt too bad and medical is ok, the hospital there is fantastic.
Schooling is great and the parks are beautiful for the kids to play in.
Weather is rather wet and depressing for half of the year which if you dont like the rain then dont live here.
All in all its a wonderful safe place to live.

"Great Lifestyle Town Close to everything"

Ever wanted to live in a friendly neighbourhood in a town that has all the services, however is also small to feel away from the hussle and bustle.... Well the 'burra is the town to be.

1.5 hrs from Melbourne CBD, 25 minutes to the beach it is perfect.

House prices are quite affordable, schooling is excellent. Health services are not far away.

Overall its a big thumbs up for Korumburra.....

"great place for a young family"

Korumburra is only an hour and a half from melbourne. We moved here recently and love our new life. Great organic produce and fair trade coffee. Wonderful friendly supermarket where you can get all your essentials and meet most of the locals there regularly. The local restaurants are fantastic, great pub (had a yummy caesar salad last night) and decent chinese, thai and indian food!! The locals are friendly and our experience with the primary school this year with our preppie has been brilliant. we are so glad to have moved here....

small acreage's are hard to find, and house prices seem to be going up. lots of new houses seem to be popping up everywhere...shame the rail tracks are only used during the holidays for fun. Would be great to go by train to melb....

overall a wonderful place for a young family to live.

FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE SEA SINCE 1886

Mr Alex Scott established our Company in the then Pioneeering Districts of Gippsland in 1886. Built on a strong foundation of honesty and integrity, our Company today continues to enjoy a long association with generations of loyal clients.

From 1931 the Company was managed by the son of Alex Scott, Stewart Scott. Stewart Scott worked tirelessly for his Industry. He loved Gippsland and the people he met in his job. This earned him strong respect from his staff and clients. Stewart remained at the helm and steadily guided and saw the expansion of the Company to proudly celebrate its Centenary in 1986. Stewarts motto “Success Through Service” has served the company well.

In 1950 Bruce Gibson, a grandson of Alex Scott, was introduced to ultimately assume a greater amount of the responsibility. Bruce Gibson became the third generation of the family to have the responsibility of Company Manager on the death of Stewart in 1988.

In 1993 Alex Scott & Staff was formed, providing Staff the opportunity of acquiring a shareholding and to form a Board of Directors with Bruce Gibson remaining as Chairman. This board of family and staff shareholders has overseen a further expansion of the Company, particularly in relation to the Real Estate Division, which combined with the extensive and long established Livestock interests provides a most vibrant and well informed Agency. With offices in Berwick, Cowes, Grantville, Inverloch, Korumburra, Lang Lang, Leongatha, Pakenham, Venus Bay , Warragul and Wonthaggi, Alex Scott and Staff is well positioned to continue to serve its clients from the mountains to the Sea.
