"Everything at Your Fingertips"

Larrakeyah is a beautiful leafy suburb on the edge of Darwin CBD, it is one of Darwin's premiere suburbs.
There is a good mix of houses and units within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, the city and Mindil Beach.
The people living in this area are a combination of families, young professionals, travelers and long term residents.
Plenty of green space, quick access to Cullen Bay, Mindil Beach and Darwin CBD.
It is a very safe neighborhood, you will feel safe walking through the area at any time.

"Very close to everything"

Live here if you want to be close to work in the CBD and like amenities and attractions near by. Bike rides on the Esplanade, stroll to the Mindil markets and paddycab into the city. There is even a school near by.

"Sandwiched between the best spots in Darwin!! Love it!"

I moved to Larrakeyah for work at the start of this year by myself. It's an awesome place to live & I've met so many young people. Highly recommend!! Walking distance/ short drive to all the good spots - CBD, Cullen Bay, Mindil Beach markets, Waterfront (Chow! is freaking amazing!) but it still has such an awesome vibe - none of the gritty chaos Sydney offers. I love in a sweet as 2 bed apartment, awesome neighbors. If I were to take all of this and drop it in Sydney, I'd pay a craaaaazy amount in rent/ living expenses. If you're still not convinced, come and hang out here for a few days and you'll never want to leave. Love, love, LOVE Larrakeyah!

great info thanks
is there enough to keep a single person entertained in Darwin, culture wise etc, especially coming from Sydney?
Also is the heat/wet season bearable?

"Close to city with pleasant quiet outlook"

To me this is one of the better places to live in Darwin. It is close to the city centre, shops and markets, either driving or walking. Plus the bus service into the city is never crowed and quick.
The environment has cool breezes and very pleasant outlooks from many apartments around a marina. The Quality of the properties in this area are of a high quality, well maintained and hold their value in the real estate market.
Nightlife is limited and therefore this area does not attract "yahoos" making excessive noise late at night. But it is close enough to the nightlife clubs and bars if you wish to have a night out.
Being a dead end road traffic is light compared to other areas which adds to safety of the area.
Overall if you are loooking at a place to rent or buy Cullen Bay is worth considering

Rentals in Larrakeyah

"Not for me"

I lived here for 6 months but found the majority of people very rude. It was also very expensive! I think most people here have a lot of money and are in an older age bracket. Might suit if you had excessive amounts of money and wanted to retire. No public transport.
