Asthma in Launceston

I've got asthma, and have heard that Launceston can get quite smoky in winter because of all the wood fires. Are there parts of Launceston where this can be avoided?

There has been a concerted programme by Launceston City Council to limit the amount of smoke, by encouraging the removal of existing wood heaters within the city. This has improved the situation somewhat, but we still get foggy winter days in the valley where the City is centred, which can trap whatever smoke is around. Look at Prospect/Prospect Vale/Blackstone Heights/Summerhill/West Launceston/Trevallyn or the heights of Riverside, all which have great access to the city but are higher up towards the edges of the city.
