I've lived in both Hobart and Launceston and personally do find Launceston easier to navigate as it seems to be more spread out and accessible, with better parking options. I enjoyed Hobart when I was younger because it had a lot more going on, however with a young family Launceston is definitely the place I want to be. One thing I did have to get used to as a New South Welshman was the one way streets - but once you get the hang of them it's a breeze.

Hobart is busy and going to be wise in the years ahead . Watch out for the many traffic cameras.
Launceston is lovely to drive in , even at high traffic times .

Definitely Launceston. Hobart gets very congested and confusing in comparison.

Hobart is much busier than Launceston. Launceston is easy to navigate, the town is just large blocks, so nearly impossible to get lost. Launceston has heaps of safe roadside parking and busses to park out of town and bus in.
