Either Hobart or Launceston opens up to possibilities you prefer.

If you intend to buy then rent in future in Launceston.

Beware of property managers.

With high turn over of staff, lack of knowledge of what is really needed, costing owners significant money.

As huge commissions at 10% for little work here.

Hi there,

I'm probably biased as I've lived here for 20 years but I'd suggest Launceston :) In general, Launceston is far more affordable but has also experienced significant growth over the past few years. There's been a lot of investment in the Launceston region in recent years and the city has been regarded as one of the most family friendly cities in the country.

East Launceston, Trevallyn and Newstead are generally regarded as the premier suburbs in Launceston as they're close to town and have plenty of services but ultimately it will come down to your budget so feel free to give me a call to discuss exactly what you're looking for and I can point you in the right direction - 0400 895 022

Another vote for Launceston! Such a convenient town where most places are a short drive away! It has a suburban and rural sort of feel with all the city amenities you might want or need. Perfect for professionals, families, singles and the elderly.

Great question!
I have lived in Launceston for 38 years and absolutely love it. However I love Hobart just as much.
Launceston offers a relaxed living vibe, its affordable, has stunning places to visit like the Gorge, it is really central to the West & East costs.
Hobart is far more metropolitan, the water way is absolutely stunning, has amazing places to visit like Mona, but its colder and more expensive!

I agree with Jeremy!
I have lived in both Hobart and Launceston. I prefer the vibe of Launceston but more importantly it very convenient. Happy to help if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
